Gamified New Hire Orientation

Description

As part of an interview, I was asked to build an eLearning module that demonstrates my creativity, resourcefulness, and skill with learning technology. I chose to do a new hire orientation training (mainly because the only source content I had to work with was the company website).  Here's the process I used:

  1. I read through the website to develop a foundational understanding of the company.
  2. Then, I came up with the goal of the training to be "Introduce new hires to One Home Health."
  3.  Next, I developed 3 simple learning objectives that answer: What does one home do? Why do customers choose One Home? and What's your role in the One Home mission?
  4. From there, I started brainstorming ideas on making the content interesting and "sticky."
  5. I landed on - an animated character as a guide through the training, gamification through badging, and a notetaking feature.
  6. Next, I created a storyboard with rough sketches.
  7. I wrote and recorded scripts.
  8. I built the animations in Vyond.
  9. Finally, I designed and developed the final product in Storyline.

Here's the "finished" product.
